Frankfurt Am Main (September 14 to 24, 2017): The biennial Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) once again came upon us in 2017 with the main theme of zero emissions and electric mobility expanding its horizons at almost every manufaturer's booth in 2017. This is in light of the fact that several European nations and China, have a plan to ban petrol and diesel vehicles by the end of the century. Also, new participants included IoT companies for example Facebook (COO, Sheryl Sandberg) and Qualcomm (CEO, Steven Mollenkopf) streamling the message of "connected mobility". Press confereces began on 12 September 2017 and familiar starters such Daimler/Mercedes Benz AG (Stuttgart, Germany) highlighted their presentation with the following: 1. Concept EQA: the electric athlete; 2. Mercedes Benz PROJECT ONE: Formula 1 Technology for the Road with 3-time World Champion, Mr. Lewis Hamilton, on its wheels for both for the media night prior and the press conference; 3. Mercedes Benz GLC F-Cell; 4. New Mercesces Benz S-Class: Coupe and Cabriolet; 5. SmartVision EQforTwo. Subsequently, Audi Sport GmbH introduced two new models and world premieres: 1. Audi RS4 Avant; 2. Audi R8 V10 RWS (Rear Wheel Series); Both introduced by outgoing CEO of Audi Sport GmbH, Mr. Stefan Winkelmann (also former CEO of Lamborghini), as he will takeover Bugatti as CEO after the departure of Mr. Wolfgang Durheimer. For Porsche AG, the world premiere of the following were: 1. New Cayenne Turbo and 2. the New 911 GT3 with Touring Package; and finally for Ferrari was the world premier of the Ferrari Portofino: 591 bhp with twin-turbocharging of a 3.9L V8 direct-injection engine, adaptive suspension, 10.2 inch touchscreen infotainment system and limited slip differential and retractable hardtop.
